In the Fall, join us for the seasonal salmon run. From the bridge, Kokanee Sockeye, Spring and Cohoe salmon, along with Rainbow trout may be seen spawning in the Eagle River, which is the northern boundary of The Enchanted Forest property!
We invite you to witness this incredible seasonal phenomenon and learn more about salmon spawning and life cycles.
What is salmon spawning?
The salmon run is the time when salmon, which have migrated from the ocean, swim to the upper reaches of rivers where they spawn on gravel beds. After spawning, all Pacific salmon and most Atlantic salmon die, and the salmon life cycle starts over again.
This miraculous cycle is illustrated on graphics, provided by the Federal Department of Fisheries under a kiosk owned by The Enchanted Forest.
